A Prayer for Protection and Peace in Israel and Gaza; by Rabbi Mark Asher Goodman

יהי רצון מלפנך , ה' אלוקינו, ואלוקי אבותינו ואמותינו...

May it  be your will, God, our God, and the God of our forefathers and foremothers
that you protect the innocent that are in harms way at this very hour

the soldiers that defend Israel and protect her citizens
and the innocent who bear no arms at all

but run hiding into shelters and basements and safe rooms
as shells and rockets rain down from above

shield them from harm
as the tradition teaches

ופרוס עלינו סוכת שלומך - ufros aleinu sukkat shlomecha
"spread over all humanity a tent of peace"

let Jews and Arabs alike not be scarred by the violence that surrounds them
let this generation that makes war 
give way to future generations that can make peace

May it be your will that the words of your prophets be fulfilled by our leaders
let it be the day may soon come 

That "Everyone will sit under their own vine and under their own fig tree, 
and no one will make them afraid" (Micah 4:4)

"And they shall beat their swords into plowshares 
and their spears into pruning hooks.

Nation shall not lift up sword against nation, 
neither shall they experience war anymore." (Isaiah 2:4)
